I think the concept of Torah in the Bible is misunderstood because of the English word “law” that it is usually translated into.
Certainly, laws, statutes and commands are necessary for any society to function, and God’s kingdom is no different.
However, Torah is more about instruction and guidance that is useful for any people at any time because we are all human, and we all need God’s guidance and instruction, (whether we think that we do or not)!
Torah is significant because it is the key factor in instructing us in righteousness (that is, doing what’s right), and in becoming more like our heavenly Father.
And since we have been created to bear his image in this world, that is why I believe Torah is not only essential, but eternally present in all ages.
